When disabled, you won't be able to enter DND mode by lowering the volume to zero, then pressing volume down one more time. Time will launch a popup menu where you have the option to display not just hours and minutes, but seconds as well. Battery opens a popup menu with options on whether to display the battery percentage only during charging or always. Battery and Time are the only two options without a toggle. You will be presented with two options, "Status bar" and "Do not disturb." The former will manage which icons appear on the status bar.To disable any status bar option, simply turn off the toggle switch next to it. Step 2: Launch System UI TunerNext, tap the widget to launch the menu. So your best bet is to use Nova Launcher, which includes an activity launcher feature.Install Nova Launcher for free from the Google Play Store With Nova opened, long-press the home screen and choose "Widgets." There is a section for widgets created by Nova Launcher, within it an option known as "Activities." Select this option, then scroll down and tap "System UI," then choose "System UI demo mode" at the bottom. There are dedicated activity launcher apps, but we've found most of them to be incompatible with Android Pie at this time. Step 1: Create a WidgetFirst, you'll need to create a widget using an activity launcher. It is a great tool to give you a bit more customization, and it cleans up unnecessary icons which crowd your status bar. For the majority of the icons, you can simply turn it off or on, but there are some additional controls for time and battery. With Android 9.0 Pie, there's a new workaround to reveal the menu. For the unaware, System UI Tuner let you choose which icons to show in the status bar. On Android Oreo (8.0) and later, there is an option to reset most settings, but it is YOUR responsibility to keep track of what you change. Changes you make are permanent! Uninstalling SystemUI Tuner WILL NOT and CANNOT undo your changes. I have no control over what Google or your OEM does to mess it up. Again, it's an option built into Android. Immersive Mode is finnicky! Don't expect it to work perfectly, and don't expect me to be able to do anything about it. This app does NOT require ROOT, but you will need to grant some permissions using ADB (instructions in app). THIS APP WILL NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY ON ALL DEVICES! For the most part, this is a replica of Android's System UI Tuner however, there are a few extra goodies that Android's solution doesn't include by default. This app aims to fix that problem, by providing a replacement. adb shell pm grant įor some reason, a lot of manufacturers seem to have a problem with us customizing our own devices, to the point where some disable the built-in Android System UI Tuner. ![]() SAMSUNG USERS ON ANDROID NOUGAT (7) and OREO (8) READ THIS: ĪDB Commands for more convenient copy-paste (ADB is not root): ![]()
